Teen One-Acts Festival

take a show from page to stage at the school of theatre!

From acting, directing, designing and playwriting, to producing and technical theatre, we do it all. Each year, a panel of Teen Council members selects two original plays penned by Bay Area teens to be performed, directed and produced by their peers. Each team member is given a Berkeley Rep mentor in their related field.

Never auditioned before in your life? Just played the lead in your school musical? Come audition for the Teen One-Acts Festival! We’re looking for teens with all levels of experience! Actors should prepare a one-minute contemporary monologue. Email teencouncil@berkeleyrep.org for an audition time or call 510 647–2974 for more information.

About the plays

The Inventors

A fantastical creation story with two large male roles, and one sizable female role.
The world begins in darkness. Slowly, two brothers fill it with light and life. One brother’s creations are full of color and joy. The other’s contributions are dark and scary. What happens when Human comes into the picture? How will the two brothers reconcile their differences to create the world we know today?

The Adoration

This satirical comedy has four large female roles and a host of smaller cameos for male and female actors.
Mr. Clark is “hot.” Not just attractive. Not just sexy. Dripping with pure, unadulterated hotness. How do we know? His Catholic school girl students, experts on measuring teacher hotness, have made it their mission to make him theirs and nothing can get in their way. With the annual Mother Mary Rita Mixer coming up, it’s war and only one girl can win.
